Paxton Hat Trick Headlines Stellar Showing Against Western
Circleville, OH - The Tigers mauled the visiting Westen High School soccer team with a final score of 8-0, with freshman Kaden Paxton leading the way with three goals.
The scoring got started early with Paxton netting his first goal in the 5th minute off an assist by senior Donovan Dillon. The Tigers remained idle for a long period of time, with the next twenty or more minutes being chance after chance missed on goal. The Tigers finally capitalized on one of their many chances in this first half, with freshman Blaine Fowler netting home a pass from sophomore Ashton Groff in the 29th minute to put them up 2-0.
This goal started a frenzy at the end of the first half, with four goals coming in the last eleven minutes of the half. The next one came in the form of Paxton's second goal of the evening in the 33rd minute, slotting it home to go up 3-0. Not even three minutes later, Paxton made it a hat trick, scoring off a pass from senior Luke Stout in the 36th minute. Luke Stout closed out the first half scoring when he got fouled in the eighteen-yard box and slotted home a PK in the 39th minute to make it 5-0 at the half.
The second half featured more of the same Tiger dominance, with senior Payden Dillon netting a brace (49th minute, 54th minute). The first goal came off an assist by junior Jackson Hatfield, and the second came off another by Groff, making that his second assist of the evening. In the middle of those two goals, senior Hayden Liff scored a 50th minute goal as he slotted home a ball that deflected off a Western defender.
With this win, the Tigers now move to 8-3-2 (1-3-1) on the season. Their next match will be this Saturday, September 30th, as they take on the Lions of Liberty Union. The slated kickoff time for that game is 10:00 AM ET.
